Meet Our Members: Will, Creative Lead at Wolly Mammoth
Introduction
Will’s path to creative leadership has taken him from HR offices in Paris to the design studios of Sydney. Now he’s helping shape bold brands at Woolly Mammoth — and loving every step of the way.

Will is a Creative Lead at Woolly Mammoth, where his days are packed with colour, movement, and meaning. In a role where no two projects are ever the same, he brings structure to chaos and creativity to strategy.
But his path to design wasn’t linear. Will began his career as an HR advisor in Paris before moving into marketing management in Sydney. Despite the stability, something didn’t feel right. During the pandemic, he took a chance — enrolling in UX/UI design courses — and instantly fell in love with the work.
“I used to work as an HR advisor in Paris and a Marketing Manager in Sydney, but I didn’t like my job. So during the pandemic, I started to learn UX/UI design and I fell in love with it.”
The shift opened up a whole new world of creative possibilities — and more importantly, it gave Will the space to be challenged, inspired, and fulfilled. “The most fulfilling part of it is being able to work on something different every day and push myself creatively.”
One recent favourite? “TMX Global — that’s been a standout project for me.”
His motivation for the career change was simple: “I wanted something less corporate (and boring) and more creative.”
Creativity has always been in Will’s DNA. But it wasn’t until his experience in more structured, corporate environments that he felt compelled to follow it fully. “I’ve always been creative, but working in a more corporate environment pushed me to explore more design-related roles.”
And he’s not afraid of offering straight-up advice to others wanting to break into design: “Put in the work.”
Will’s curiosity doesn’t stop at design. He’s fascinated by physiotherapy and nutrition and would love to learn more about both — especially how the body works, heals, and performs under pressure.
That interest also shows up in his personal life. When he’s not designing or parenting, you’ll find him sparring in Muay Thai. “I love to spar in Muay Thai after a full day of design.” It’s a surprising contrast — but a perfect reflection of his energy: thoughtful, focused, and always in motion.
He also finds creativity in the everyday — like choosing his outfits each morning. It’s all about intention, aesthetic, and a sense of fun.
Will welcomed his daughter last year, a personal milestone that now colours everything he does. Between work, parenting, and training, he’s found a rhythm that balances creativity with discipline — and his energy is unmistakable.
Books and films are also part of his creative fuel. He recommends *Les fleurs du mal* by Charles Baudelaire and *Shutter Island* by Martin Scorsese — both layered, moody, and unforgettable.
Will is proof that bold moves pay off. Whether he’s designing for clients, dodging Muay Thai kicks, or chasing his toddler down the hallway, he brings the same energy to it all: honest, curious, and always evolving.
