Meet Our Members: Brittany, Senior Producer at What Matters Agency
Introduction
As a Senior Producer at What Matters, Brittany spends her days bringing creative ideas to life alongside chefs, marketers, designers, filmmakers, and one very talented team. What started as a move away from the corporate world has grown into a career built around creativity, leadership, and the people she gets to work with every day.

For Brittany, the best part of her job isn’t necessarily a campaign, a client, or a shoot day. It’s the people.
As a Senior Producer at What Matters Agency, she works alongside a team of creatives and collaborators spanning hospitality, marketing, design, and production. One day might involve working with chefs and venue operators, the next with cinematographers, graphic designers, or content creators.
“I’m lucky enough to work with the rest of the amazing WM team,” she says. “We get to work with many esteemed chefs, marketing teams and amazingly creative contractors from graphic designers to cinematographers and everything in between.”
It’s a role that sits at the centre of a constantly moving industry, and that’s exactly what drew her to it.
Interestingly, production wasn’t always part of the plan.
Before joining What Matters, Brittany was working in a corporate role, but she found herself increasingly drawn to the creative world. Conversations with friends working in the industry opened her eyes to a different kind of career, one that felt more aligned with her personality.
“I started chatting to my creative friends and got hooked by the forever changing, quirky and fun space of production.”
That curiosity eventually led her to What Matters through founder Blake O’Halloran.
“I talked his ear off for a few hours about the agency and the role and WMA was crazy enough to hire me haha.”
The move turned out to be the right one.
Looking back, Brittany credits both the founders and the team around her for helping her settle into the role and grow into the leader she is today.
“I settled into the role through great leadership from the founders but also the already established team being Rosh, Stephy, Mads & Brady.”
When asked about rewarding projects, Brittany doesn’t immediately point to a particular campaign or venue. Instead, she talks about what happens behind the scenes.
“I find each day pretty rewarding tbh because I get to try and be the best manager or team leader I can be.”
For her, success comes from watching people grow, supporting the team around her, and seeing everyone work together towards a shared goal.
“The team is awesome and seeing everyone progress and band together is the best.”
It’s an answer that says a lot about what motivates her. While the hospitality industry is known for beautiful venues, exciting launches, and creative campaigns, Brittany’s focus is often on the people who make those things possible.
When asked about her proudest career achievement, her answer is simple.
“This one I’m living in right now!”
There’s something refreshing about that perspective. Rather than focusing on a milestone that’s already happened, Brittany is grateful for the chapter she’s currently in and the people she gets to share it with.
Outside of work, her attention shifts from production schedules to hands-on projects and time spent outdoors.
One of her current passions is finishing off her van, a project she’s been steadily working away at.
“I have to complete the floors, second battery and then she’s all sorted!”
Like many creative people, she seems to enjoy the process just as much as the end result.
The van is part of a bigger picture too. Brittany has her sights set on surfing in the Mentawai Islands, a personal goal she’s hoping to tick off in the coming years.
That love of learning extends beyond the ocean. She’s currently learning French and, when asked what she’s most curious about right now, her answer comes quickly:
“Frenchhhhhh and more surfing haha.”
As part of getting to know our members beyond their work, we always love uncovering the little details that make each person unique. For Brittany, it’s that combination of curiosity, adventure, and willingness to try something new, whether that’s learning a language, finishing a van, or chasing waves halfway across the world.
The best advice she’s ever received is short but powerful.
“To slow down.”
In an industry that’s constantly moving, it’s a reminder that’s easy to forget and perhaps exactly why it’s worth holding onto.
When it comes to AI tools and software, Brittany’s answer might be the most honest we’ve received.
“None lol.”
No productivity hacks. No complex workflows. Just a focus on people and doing great work.
Around Darlinghurst, you’ll often find her stopping by Flour & Stone.
“Flour & Stone for yummy treats is the best.”
And when asked what she loves most about being part of the Desk Space community, her answer is wonderfully simple:
“Everyone on level 3.”
It’s a small answer, but one that perfectly captures what makes this place special. Time and time again, our members talk about the people they’ve met here, the conversations they’ve had, and the friendships that have formed along the way.
If Brittany’s career had taken a different turn, she imagines she’d be doing something completely different.
“I'would have been a Paramedic.”
While it might seem worlds away from production, there are probably more similarities than you’d expect. Both require quick thinking, resilience, teamwork, and the ability to stay calm when things don’t go according to plan. Looking after people also sits at the heart of both roles, something that’s clearly important to Brittany regardless of the path she’s on.
Thankfully for the What Matters team, she chose production instead.
And finally, when it comes to recommendations, Brittany offers two very different but equally worthy picks: Big Mistakes and Little Women.
One focused on lessons learned, the other on relationships, ambition, and growth. Somehow, both feel fitting.
We’re so happy and honoured to have thoughtful, creative, and genuinely supportive members like Brittany in our community. Whether she’s leading a production, supporting her team, learning French, or planning her next surf adventure, she brings warmth, energy, and curiosity to everything she does.
